Dr Thomas Gough married Agnes Harrison.
Her second husband was John Fell Swainson.
She had a daughter with John, called Agnes.
It's possible she's also pictured (follow the link below)
but it's more likely the image is of her mother Agnes.

Thomas Gough was 55 in this picture.
There's a painting of Thomas made by William Bowness.
Moses Bowness had a studio in Kendal at the time
and could've made these ambrotypes of Thomas and Agnes.
His studio featured the same chair.
